Year 3 Cooking Clever Banquet

On Thursday 6th December, Year 3 had their Cooking Clever Banquet. During the day, the children practised their chopping, peeling, grating and slicing skills and we created a vegetable and meat stew. In the afternoon, we created our very own class packaging for the stew and we looked the components of a strong and sturdy net.

In the evening, we invited our parents and carers into the school hall. We ate our stew and showed off the packaging from our Design Technology day. The children and their families made wonderful desserts, from meringues and fruit to key lime pie. The teachers were lucky enough to sample a great selection of tasty treats.
We also shared some of our own poetry which we had written during our English lessons, based upon the poem written by Ken Nesbitt, 'Mashed Potatoes on the Ceiling'. We finished the Banquet singing the famous song from the musical 'Oliver', 'Food Glorious Food'!
Thank you to all the parents and carers who attend the evening and made it such a success.
