Year 2 at the Fire Station

On Wednesday this week the whole of Year 2 took a walk round to our local fire station as part of their current topic, The Great Fire of London! Fire fighter Ben was on hand to tell us all about the equipment they use to help them fight fires, as well as what they might have used back in 1666. They also dressed Miss Wright up in fire fighter gear - it swamped her because it was so big. We had a tour of the station and every child was allowed to have a go at using the powerful fire engine hose! It was a great morning and the children came away from it bursting with excitement. Thank you again Leigh Fire Station for a fantastic trip!
